Developer EvangelistAre you passionate about technology? Do you enjoy playing or
working with leading-edge technologies and APIs? When you see a new technology
that intrigues you, do you immediately try to build an app with it? Do you like
telling your friends about the latest and greatest sites on the web? Do you like
to explain how things work? Are you looking for an exciting role that will allow
you to flex your technology, business and communications skills?

Company x is looking for their first Developer Evangelist. Your role will be to
engage with the broad community of developers, Partners, industry groups and
other influential users to show them what's possible with the Platform. You
will also serve as their advocate, representing their needs to the broader team
and ensuring they are met. Your ultimate mission is to establish, nurture and
grow a thriving eco-system of applications and businesses, built on the
Platform.

Responsibilities:
* Champion the Platform in person and online by presenting at events
(conferences, panels, meetups), blogging/tweeting, engaging with developer
press/bloggers, and similar activities
* Drive momentum for the Platform within the Developer community via
contests, hackathons, Developer blogs and forums
* Work with key partners to specify and evaluate new features, and to develop
and debug early implementations
* Support strategic partners and the broader developer community as they build
apps that showcase the potential of the Platform
* Create tools that developers will use to implement applications including
documentation, sample apps and tutorials
* Advocate for the developer community, representing their needs and
influencing product prioritization by working cross-functionally within


Qualifications:
* Excellent presentation skills to large, demanding technical audiences
* Excellent oral and written communications skills, on technical and business
subjects
* Experience blogging and writing technical articles, or teaching
* BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred
* Solid programming abilities in JavaScript and one or more of the following
languages: Java, PHP, Python, Ruby, .NET (C#)
* Strong command of and interest in web application development landscapes
* Passion for new platforms and technologies — and showing others the
possibilities
* A compelling blend of passion, optimism, customer advocacy, curiosity and
creativity
* Ideally you will have experience working with online developer communities,
large partners and bloggers
* Experience as a software developer or technology evangelist a plus
