Job description:

Deloitte is currently searching for a Northern Pacific Public Relations
Manager to work with senior leadership and senior marketing and
business development professionals in support of the firm’s business
objectives and marketing initiatives in the Northern Pacific region. The
main role of the Public Relations Manager is to work as part of the
National Public Relations team and with regional leadership to provide
strategic public relations expertise for specific industries, geographies and
/ or products and services. This position will be located in our San
Francisco office.

Responsibilities include the following:

• As a part of the National Public Relations team, work with regional
leadership, marketing and business development leadership, client
service professionals and marketing communications professionals, to
formulate and execute an integrated public relations and marketing approach
in support of sales efforts.
• Execute a strategic public relations program in support of regional
business objectives and other national communications
platforms/initiatives supporting the values of the organization (i.e. community
involvement and diversity and inclusion initiatives, amongst others).
• Act as primary media contact for the firm in the Northern Pacific
region, for proactive media relations campaigns and initiatives, in
addition to reactive (i.e. fielding all incoming media calls and
determining validity of opportunity, spokesperson to conduct interview, etc.).
• Track, monitor and evaluate public relations activities and
accomplishments and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
• Work with limited PR agency resources to initiate special projects
and activities according to plan and within budget parameters.
• Work with National PR team members and local marketing
professionals to identify and secure speaking opportunities for senior leadership
to enhance visibility and eminence as subject matter specialists in
their respective fields, including some preparation of remarks,
coordination of logistics, and coaching partners on presentation skills.
• In accordance with the defined strategic communications goals and
initiatives, contribute to the development and implementation of public
relations campaigns to enhance visibility and increase both revenue and
market share for the firm’s industry groups and service lines.
• Provide direction and coordination in the design and execution of
initiatives geared toward generating positive publicity for the firm and
local partners, including but not limited to press releases, proactive
media contact, speeches, conferences, seminars and trade shows
• With National Public Relations team, maintain overall public
relations budget and standardize public relations methods to ensure
consistency and cost effectiveness.
• Prepare and execute crisis communications program to monitor for
and neutralize negative press coverage of the firm.
• Daily discretion in the coordination and development of public
relations programs and plans.


Qualifications
• 8+ years of experience in marketing, communications, public
relations or sales
• Experience collaborating with teams in a professional services or
large matrixed company
• Experience working with PR agencies (outside agency experience a
plus)
• Excellent written and oral communications skills and professional
client service manner
• Superior Microsoft Office skills
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and interact with all
levels of management
• Project management experience
• Sound knowledge of public relations and marketing fundamentals
• Negotiation and presentation skills required
• Flexibility and adaptability required
• Undergraduate degree in public relations, marketing, communications
or related field
