Position Title: Sr. Technical Analyst, AIX Systems

Position Summary

The Technical Analyst, AIX Systems will be responsible for providing technical support for the following merchandising systems, and all related interfaces and batch production jobs for these systems on a 24x7 schedule
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Provide production support to users: work with users to set priorities; review and clarify user requests; document the request with user, include reviewing and writing requirements and system design documents; and follow up on requests and questions to ensure user’s business needs are met promptly.
Troubleshoot and implement resolution action plans for issues relating to: data integrity / application software / interface and batch production job processing / hardware and configurations
Manage corporate help desk system trouble tickets assigned to the AIX/Oracle Merchandise Systems area.
Manage trouble tickets opened up with the software vendors.
Develop and maintain system & procedure documentation.
Provide weekly status reports to management on projects and issues.
Implement software patches and upgrades for merchandising applications.
Manage special projects as assigned by management.
Participate in rotational on-call support for daytime, nights and weekends.
Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in business administration, computer science or information systems.
Experience Skills

5+ years experience with AIX Operating System (OS).
Experience with VI editor required.
Knowledge of KSH (Korn Shell) Scripting required.
Knowledge of SQL Scripting required.
Knowledge of Windows Application Server Operating System (OS).
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Excellent verbal & written communications skills.
Ability to communicate well with team, users and management in a technical and non-technical manner.
Team player mentality
Oracle DBA skills a plus
Retail systems experience a plus
Web application experience a plus
JDA application experience a plus Customer and results focused.
